Aerospace - Iso Thermal Forging Handlers

A first of its kind automated material handling system was developed for a leading aerospace manufacturer. There are many iso thermal forging processes around the world, but due to the extreme temperatures and environments none had been developed for automating the die changeout. This requires significant downtime for the manual die changeout, which is a significant efficiency loss. BlueArc has developed custom machines to automate the handling of the products into and out of the forging cell as well as the dies. The designs for these machines is all proprietary, but the images below show on a grand level the types of solutions developed.
