Appliance Manufacturing - Portable Dishwasher Laydown Transfer Device

This machine would transfer a dishwasher during the assembly process from one assembly line conveyor to a fixture slat conveyor. A dishwasher would enter the machine right side up, and we would lay it on its back and deposit onto the adjacent slat conveyor. Our design utilized powered rollers for the infeed, and the pivoting action was via a pneumatic cylinder. Custom fingers would engage the dishwasher to keep it from falling off the pivoting carriage; once the dishwasher was placed on the fixtures of the slat conveyor the fingers would retract and the carriage would return home to the vertical position.
