Research and Development - High Speed Small Item Sorter

A high speed solution was required to sort cigarettes by order once they left the pick line. In typical fashion, the Blue Arc team came up with a simple yet very effective solution. Rotary paddles would gently guide the cartons off the plastic belt conveyor onto a chute. Bins along the sorter would accumulate the cartons once they were diverted, awaiting the operator pack them out in corrugated half case boxes that ship to the retail stores. Cartons are able to be successfully sorted with as little as a 4” gap between products.
