Rocker Stops

Rocker stops allow for a single product to be released from an accumulated train, typically on gravity roller conveyor. These units are typically used in pallet handling applications where several containers or pallets are cued up. The simple, robust design makes them a popular choice.

Rocker Stop Applications

Rocker stops are used to singulate a container or pallet from the end of an accumulated train. The downstream blade is of a rocker stop is normally up; when train is in position, the stop pivots to lower the downstream stop and raise the upstream stop. The upstream stop engages the second container in the line, thus holding back the rest of the train. This allows the most downstream product to flow freely. Once it is cleared, the stop resets so upstream blade lowers and releases the train. Container needs to have opening underneath to allow upstream stop to come up inside. Rocker stops are used prior to value added processes – operator loading/unloading, shuttle car loading, transfer loading, etc.

Rocker Stop Benefits

  • Low profile design, minimal space under conveyor.
  • Simple design, few moving parts. Virtually no maintenance. Shock loading is transferred back to heavy duty pivot pin.
  • Cost effective, positive stopping of product.

Rocker Stop Specifications

  • Heavy duty welded structural steel construction.
  • Actuation is by a pneumatic airbag.
  • Includes solenoid valve with stop with flow control.
  • Bolts to bottom flange of conveyor frame. Ability to adapt design to any conveyor manufacturer frame.
