Roller brakes are used to stop roller conveyors from underneath the roller. This allows for a low profile design that does not require having to be in front of the leading edge of the product. This comes in handy when product is back to back in a slug.
Roller Brake ApplicationsRoller brakes mount underneath gravity roller conveyors to stop the rollers without intruding on space above the conveyor. Typically, roller brakes are used in tandem with a blade stop to singulate cartons from a train. A blade stop would be downstream and hold the entire train back. A roller brake would actuate under the second case to hold back the second case and rest of the train, then the blade stop would lower to release the end case. Once the end case is clear, the blade stop would activate up and the roller brake would release the train. Roller Brake Benefits
